Greating & Seating
Greating take place fairly quickly. The greater usally asks for your drink order or has the server with you as you reach the table.
This dark hall that leads in changes with the warm smile and positive attidute of the host.
Service & Style
This is warm and friendly, perhaps spoiled more so by the presense of the two owners who are around almost every time we have visited.
When its busy you know it because Dean, one of the owners is out on the floor and this is a individual that knows his food as well as his customers, he leans over and lights the candles on the table whil intorducing himself, what style.
Decor & Atmosphere
This place has foundations back from the early 1700's and bosts its formation in 1825 as Hallock House!
Like I need o say more, well I will, this place back room is one of the quietest most romantic settings on Long island!
However, it also host band nights for Rock and Roll with a traditional bar setting in the front.
The tradition of this historic setting is wonderfully preserved by the owners, the crowd is wonderfully diverse from the Mercedes to Harley, its a welcoming and romantic setting all in one, but also has Live Music that could deter a few on occasion.
Food Review
I loved the menu season that included Octoberfest and St. patricks day specials, but the King Crab leg is still one of my favorites.
Porterhouse, Porterhouse, porterhouse steak! The marinade is just the icing for this juicy well prepared steak that DEKS is famous for, not to mention and impressive soup selction.
Cost Per Couple
This is very affordable and a definate must for those of every budget.
This is a steal considering the setting alone be worth the visit not to mention the service and food.
